¿Dónde? Where is the new
theater?
The new Pregones Theater is conveniently located at 575 Walton Avenue,
between 149th and 150th Streets in The South Bronx, just south of Yankee
Stadium. Always a hub of cultural activity, this area is attracting a
new wave of visitors and has emerged as one of New York City's hotspots
for diversity and creative expression. Part of a growing Bronx Cultural
Renaissance, the new Pregones Theater is a feature attraction in this
already vibrant cultural destination!
Pregones Theater is best known for creating plays with dynamic visual
and rhythmic character, for mining connections between theater and popular
culture, and for developing lasting forms of audience participation. In
25 years of activity, we have produced over 30 world premieres and presented
100 visiting artists. We are proud to champion the merit of Latino performing
arts at the local and national levels, and eager to continue doing so
at our new home in The Bronx.
The new Pregones Theater will give audiences the opportunity to choose
from 150 events each year, including theater, dance, music, film,
and numerous workshops and training projects expertly curated by our award-winning
ensemble artists.
